kids jiu jitsu

At 85 Jiu Jitsu, our kids’ programs are designed to help children grow in confidence, discipline, and kindness while learning practical self-defense in a safe and supportive environment. Each age group trains in classes tailored to their stage of development — balancing fun, focus, and skill-building.

Our younger groups (ages 3–8) meet twice per week for 30-minute sessions to match developing attention spans and keep classes energetic, age-appropriate, and engaging.

As students mature, they move into the Youth Fundamentals program (ages 9–12) with longer classes, more technical instruction, and two training sessions per week to build consistency, confidence, and mastery.

No matter their age or experience, every child at 85 Jiu Jitsu learns to move safely, train respectfully, and carry the lessons of discipline and teamwork beyond the mats.
